Not sure on something?
Huddersfield half Marathon
The (3rd) day after the day before!
On Sunday 5th June team Crowther, consisting of Director Lee Kaznowski, Accounts manager Chris Highe and accountant Sam Hewitt, took part in the Huddersfield Half Marathon – labelled the toughest half marathon in the country. Here’s what they had to say:
Lee: They say time is a great healer and if I had written this on Sunday night it would be an entirely different content! After over 1,700 ft of hill climbs it’s fair to say my legs were just a bit stiff. I had retired from running altogether and dreaded the prospect of any more hills!
After 2 days of rest I can look back on the race with a smile, yes it was horrible, it definitely lived up to its label, but that’s what’s running is about, challenging yourself. I have run a few half marathons before and they can sometime be a little boring. There was nothing boring about this race!! When I felt capable of looking up I could see stunning views and the hills, well maybe on reflection they weren’t that bad.
It was a beautiful sunny day and although that made the experience even harder at the time at least a can say I came away with a nice tan from it.
Maybe if a did it again it would be a little easier…..
Lee finished in a time of 1 hr 38 mins – 11th place overall
Sam: First time half marathon runner certainly found it a little challenging:
Quite simply that was horrific – I’ll never do it again! Maybe on reflection it wasn’t a good idea to go out drinking until 3am the day before!
Sam finished in a time of 2 hrs 37 mins
Chris: It was also Chris’s first time running the half marathon and he had a slightly different problem:
I burnt my head in the heat! I thought it was really hard but would do it again
Chris finished in a time of 2 hrs 2 mins
Thanks to all those that donated it made the pain worth while!
